Peaceful Travel Tips

As a mother who has spent many years traveling with my husband and children, life can truly get adventurous when away from home. I have found that having a peaceful group of individuals can truly enhance the travel experience. Here are some tips that can bring peace to you as well as your family.

• Tip 1: Keep Fitness a Priority

Whether you are a runner, a weightlifting enthusiast or a yoga lover I would encourage you to try and stay active by keeping your home routine with you on vacation (at least a little bit!) For example, I used Gogobot to find hotels that have yoga-friendly amenities. I found a fabulous San Francisco hotel that supplied every room with a yoga mat and free on demand fitness channels!

• Tip 2: Seek Foods in Nutritional Benefits
As my husband, children and I are visiting a theme park, exhaustion can be detrimental to me. Therefore, I try to boost my energy by keeping an excellent snack in my purse, such as almonds. In fact, I add raspberries and blueberries to create a fantastic energy combination. This results in me getting the energy that I need!

• Tip 3: Relieving Stress

When on vacation with my family, I have found that something always happens that is unexpected, such as a piece of luggage gets lost or bad weather affects a couple of our days. While I have no control over these things, I can control my feelings. Finding a workable solution is always a positive thing and it is important to be calm when things go wrong. It is not worth it to lose my cool or let a little thing destroy my day or vacation.

• Tip 4: Stay Open to New Adventures

While it can be exhilarating to go another country or another state, a fun vacation does can be had in your hometown or your home state. The state in which your live as well as your hometown can have things to do and places to see. There can be a treasure trove of places to visit and things to do in your hometown which you have never done before.

• Tip 5: Fitness on the Go

When I’m packing my bags I try and substitute a pair of my high heels for some running sneakers. This way I can take full advantage of the gym in the hotel or even just staying active and keeping up with my kids. If I’m going to a hotel that I am unsure about fitness amenities, I like to pack my compact yoga mat so I can still get some practice in on trips from my hotel room. Sun salutations are always the way to start your day off right!

A vacation can be an unforgettable experience. Having peace on a trip is truly a wonderful blessing. It can be an experience everyone can have. I hope these help you on your next vacation :) Remember to have fun, stay safe and enjoy!!
