I recently received two coupons for free pizzas from Blaze Pizza, which opened up three weeks ago in Brookfield.
We went on Saturday evening and I was exhausted before we headed there. In the end, it felt good to get out of the house and have dinner at a restaurant. I had to work and spent a lot of time on my feet and talking vs. a typical work day spent sitting at my desk. Craig spent the whole day inside and was excited to get out of the house for dinner, so we headed to Blaze to check it out (despite me really wanting to fall asleep on the couch and rest).
We both pretty much decided what we were going to get before we got to the restaurant--Craig wanted a Meat Lover and I was still somewhat indecisive. Both the Art Lover and the Veg Out sounded delicious, but I thought the Veg Out would be a little different and therefore I ordered that.
We were greeted by the friendly staff at Blaze and ordered. We were encouraged to watch them make our pizzas, so instead I asked, "can I take pictures of you making them?"
It was fun to be able to see the process going on and make sure things like red onions didn't end up on my pie. :)
Both of our pizzas were ready before I paid! It was a very fast process.
We both enjoyed our unique pizzas. Craig's had pepperoni, red onion, red sauce, and crumbled meatballs and mozzarella on it.
Mine had zucchini, mushrooms, mozzarella, gorgonzola and red sauce dollops.
To be honest, gorgonzola cheese wouldn't have been my first choice for the Veg Out. I would have probably just preferred the mozzarella alone since the gorgonzola is such an extremely strong flavor.
I took half of my pizza home with me and I liked the little leftover boxes they offered near the drink station.
The interior of the restaurant felt clean and modern. It got really busy after we were nearly done, so the word is spreading about the place!

I remember hearing about this place and looking forward to it coming to town...it's too bad I'm no longer in town to try it. Although the pizza place we went to in South Beach this past weekend seems pretty similar. Love the concept of being able to see them make your pizza!
