I plan on doing most of my workouts at home this fall and winter and I've been relying on apps to get creative and motivated with my routines.
1. Nike Training Club
I still love to use Nike's Training Club app and it's a keeper. I love that you can choose different options like "get lean" or "get focused."
I like that the display shows the time needed to workout, the approximate calories burned, and what you need to complete the workout.
2. The Fitness Games
Through my ambassadorship with Fit Approach, I downloaded the Platinum version of the Fitness Games app to review. Once again, I loved the different options for choosing the type of workout you want to perform. There are over 50 workouts available.
This app is unique in that it combines social media, gaming and fitness. It is divided into four categories: strength, cardiovascular, full-body and cross training.

I am a visual learner and I need to see images of how to perform an exercise before I do it! Most ab exercises are familiar to me, but I often need help with kettlebells and cable machines. I was happy to find videos linked within the visual images too! This is a fantastic feature of the app.
3. MapMyRide (and MapMyWalk, Run, etc.)
I have written about MapMyRide before, but it's one of my ultimate favorites that I use nearly every week to record indoor and outdoor workouts. Like a pedometer, it motivates me to walk further and I also love that it shows the elevation levels. It works for walks, runs, bike rides, etc. I do have to keep my location on, which drains my battery, but it's worth it. This is a great app if you don't have an activity monitor like a FitBit or Jawbone.
Do you have any favorite fitness apps for indoor workouts? Besides apps, I've been using YouTube and Grokker for workouts on my TV or computer.
