My Everyday Life [Week 39]

Here's what this past week looked like!

I won this book through Goodreads giveaways. It's been really hard to get into so far, but I will keep trying. The author is Finnish.
Morning fog as I arrived at work.
We went to see Snowden on Tuesday night! Craig actually had a few strangers tell him he looked like Snowden when that news broke years ago. It was a really good movie that has the potential to make you paranoid!
I used to love trolls when I was a little girl.
Rainy days lead to pretty double rainbow evenings!
Traffic was awful one morning. I decided to pull over, grab my free Panera bagel, and relax a bit. Turns out that was exactly what I needed because the traffic calmed down by the time I got back on the road.
Before and after haircut. I tried a new salon and really liked my stylist and the atmosphere! I'm also glad my hair is getting a little more blonde again. It's pretty close to my natural color now.
I love seeing fall decorations outside the grocery store!
While I only buy them once or twice a year, the chocolate croissants from Trader Joe's just taste so good freshly baked in your own oven.
Visits to the library that involve reading my favorite magazine are always the best.
We checked out the first Oktoberfest at Frame Park in Waukesha on Saturday!
We walked over around 11:30 a.m. so it was pretty empty there.
Craig had a pretzel, of course.
We also shared some tasty roasted pecans!
Oktoberfest also offered plenty of beer, brats and other options.
Cold brew from Hawthorne coffee roasters at the farmers market! It was delicious.
Saturday night was a spaghetti dinner for the wildlife center I volunteer at!
Me holding a cardboard cutout of one the kestrels I love!
Don't the cutouts look real? Such a fun idea for fundraiser photos!
We met a skunk named Chase. He was so energetic and cute.
 Love seeing the owl!
I spotted this while shopping on Sunday. I definitely would vote for naps.
I finally found the perfect white desk for our office at The Container Store. I have looked for about 10 months now. Craig put it together and it is exactly what we needed. A bonus is that the drawer is painted my favorite color.
Shiva taking his Sunday cat nap in his usual spot on the couch.
I was weeding our landscaping and all of a sudden, looked down to see a huge patch of mushrooms. It's been so rainy here lately so that probably makes our soil the perfect environment for mushrooms to grow in.
Phew, that was a busy week! I'm ready for a little more calm one ahead of us.

My Everyday Life [Week 38]

Week 38 started out with my usual Monday evening of baby bird feeding. Here's the room I volunteer in.
I finally had a hummingbird as a patient! I never got to feed him because he ate nectar out of the feeder on his own.
Feeding this tiny guy scared me a bit. He was so fragile.
I get most of my lunches free at my new job! We usually have leftovers from daytime rental events, which is so nice! That dessert was a delicious lemon curd with berries.
Watching my nephew play soccer! I really miss playing the sport myself.
I'm still trying to walk or lift weights in the morning. I prefer walking because I get to listen to podcasts and get more steps in for the day!
Overnight oat prepping! I find adding frozen berries works pretty well.
Pema with the evening light shining on him.
I'll end this post with beautiful little Shiva.

My Everyday Life [Week 37]

Week 37 recap coming at you!

I sat in the gallery during my lunch break one day. I need to do that more often.
I love that our gallery changes often.

You know how I love my birds!
Celebrating my birthday with mom and dad and Craig a week after it occurred.
I'm always happy when I see an owl on a walk.
Shiva rubbing his head on one of the cats' latest favorite toy, a laundry basket.
One morning, I was eating breakfast and heard a turkey gobbling in our backyard. I looked out to find a family and a surprise--a coyote running into the woods away from the scene. It was my first time seeing a coyote in our yard. One of the turkeys stared right at Pema and I in the patio window.
A fuzzy photo, but I wanted to share how much I love the green smoothie at Panera. It's so yummy!
Can't get enough of the pretty sunsets this month.
Pema in action.
On Saturday, September 10th, we headed out on a very rainy day to meet friends at Devil's Lake State Park. By the time we got there, the rain cleared up and we had a nice time!
Our whole group!
I swore we'd never attempt this trail again and I especially did not like it on a rainy day, but we did it and no one fell!
It was nice to take the flat railroad tracks trail back.
