I found myself reading labels more, even though I mostly shopped the perimeter of the store. When buying sushi, I saw milk on the label and knew that I wouldn't be able to eat the sushi rolls as leftovers for lunch tomorrow. So, I read other labels and found the vegetarian version (which I prefer anyway) didn't have any milk.
With a $1.00 off coupon, which was doubled, I got this milk for about $1.50. Not bad. I am not the biggest fan of soy milk, but I figured I would try this kind over the next week because it has 8 grams of protein per serving.
I had a glass of it with my dinner and it wasn't too bad.
I also picked up two types of store brand almond milk: original and vanilla. I figured the vanilla might be good in my coffee. I prefer almond milk over other dairy alternative milks.
I enjoyed the sushi for dinner with some soy sauce and wasabi. I love wasabi, as long as it is in moderation.
I found out that sushi is the perfect pre-gym dinner. It wasn't heavy in my stomach and didn't make me feel sick while I worked out. I had to get to the gym right after eating as the night was flying by. I just lifted a full circuit of weights and biked while reading the September issue of Health magazine.
There, I managed to fit in a shorter blog post and still have time to read before bed! Night!
Hey! I am lactose intolerant and there are great products out there. You should check out Lactaid (brand) Milk. They make milk, cottage cheese etc. It is easy to get, just ask your grocer to carry it if they don't. Also, Breyers has a lactose free vanilla ice cream!
