Two of my friends, Jenny and Kim, work downtown too, so we had lunch at Zarletti yesterday. It was my first time dining there. We had to eat at the bar because it was packed with fellow downtown diners.
All three of us got the same starters and entrees. We had salads, which was just lettuce and croutons.
Our entree was linguine with olive oil and Italian herbs. Pretty basic, but tasty.
We all got gelato too. While Kim and Jenny opted for chocolate, I got pistachio because it's not something I typically get or buy at the grocery store. I loved dessert best, of course!
The interior of the restaurant was modern and clean feeling.
I loved the lights above the bar.
The bartender that served us was friendly and attentive. Our meals came out at a good pace.
It was so nice to get away from the office and have a nice meal with two good friends! We need to meet up like that more often.
Does your city have a downtown dining week with deals on lunches and dinners? I've heard a lot of people saying they haven't been too impressed with the offerings at restaurants or the wait times. I usually only go to one restaurant during the week. My friend Jenny has gone to three or four so far!
On Monday night my mom, sister and I went to Coquette Cafe for dinner at 6:15pm. We had no wait but we did have reservations. Had watermelon gazpacho for the first time so refreshing on a hot day. Ive gone to Madison's dinning week a couple of time and enjoy it. They have it twice. Once in January and now again in july.
ReplyDeleteZarletti's is so pretty inside. I've only eaten there once - I liked their canolli's best! For downtown dining week, we did Club Charlie's last week. It was good, but not great.
ReplyDeleteEvery June I intend to try at least one new restaurant during Downtown Dining Week and each year I fail. Maybe next year I'll go for the first time :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I scheduled vacation during Downtown Dining week. I had so much fun last year. Sounds like you had a good time!
