Juniper 61 review

I have been hearing a lot about local restaurant Juniper 61 for the past year and always wanted to check it out. On Sunday, I met some friends there for dinner.

The restaurant is in Wauwatosa, which is where I grew up for half of my life. I always feel like I am "home" when in the neighborhood that Juniper 61 is in.

I walked in to find my friends Laurie and Loni in this cute "tree" room in the restaurant.

I loved the tree theme to the room and especially the light above our table.

After going back and forth about what to order, I finally decided on what first grabbed my attention--the Wild Mushroom and Kale Stroganoff. I enjoyed it with a Magner's cider, which was tasty.

I really liked my dish and think it's something I should recreate at home sometime.

I splurged and got dessert. When the waitress mentioned Rhubarb pie, I was sold. I love rhubarb and hadn't had it since summer. The pie was delicious. My friends got their slices with Purple Door ice cream.

I really enjoyed Juniper 61 and would recommend it to others. The menu is quite extensive and I'd love to go back and try their brunch or a sandwich for lunch.

  1. I used to live somewhat close to this restaurant, drove by it all the time but never went! Just reviewed the menu - wow! Yum.
