Weekend Recap: Rest, Lots of Tea, and a New Winter Coat!

How was your weekend? I had to work until nearly midnight on Friday, so I was pretty out of it yesterday. On the agenda was lots of rest, yard work and laundry.

I was recently sent some teas from Andy at Plum Deluxe and enjoyed trying the Reading Nook blend over the weekend. I love that Andy started the company because his mom lost her battle with breast cancer and that she taught him the following: that no matter your circumstances, you can choose to create moments that matter, every day. I did just that while enjoying my cup of tea!
I used my adorable loose leaf tea infuser to make the Reading Nook blend.
I enjoyed it while reading Meatonomics. I found one of my favorite quotes ever in the book: "In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few." -Shunryu Suzuki. I've found that message to be really applicable lately.
I ordered a beautyblender last week and was excited to prep it for use (you have to rinse it with water and let it air dry before using it for the first time)! I haven't tried it yet, but maybe I'll do a beauty products review soon and include it.
Since my stomach was bugging me all weekend, I turned to the Green Peppermint tea the sweet folks at Traditional Medicinals sent me. It didn't taste like green tea at all, so if you think you don't like green tea, try this brand!
Ok, I know this is going to come as a total shock to most of you, but I hadn't actually used a crock pot until today. I don't own one, so I had never cooked with one, it's as simple as that. I borrowed my mom's to try Carrie on Living's recommendation for cooking spaghetti squash.
It was so easy to make this way and turned out perfect! Now I have healthy squash to eat for lunches this week.
I ran to the mall this afternoon to try on the Lodge Down Parka at Eddie Bauer. I had seen it in their catalog and liked the price and style. I already purchased a Marmot Down coat last month, but was still open to alternatives. I ended up loving the Eddie Bauer one, plus I got a super good deal! It was only $110 after a big discount and opening a new credit card. I also added some down mittens to my purchase. Now I think I am nearly set for winter! It already arrived here in Milwaukee because we woke up to snow on the ground.
Wow, this weekend went by so quickly. I am way over on my hours at work, so I plan on working from home a bit on Friday and then being off the rest of the day. I am really looking forward to a longer weekend compared to this short one. Plus, we're going to the German Christkindlmarkt at Best Place in Milwaukee! I cannot wait!
