Stitch Fix Review-February 2016

I've been receiving Stitch Fix boxes off and on now, but this is my first formal blog post about it. I finally found a stylist, Sarah, that gets me and looks at my Pinterest board for inspiration (which to me, seems to be the key to getting pieces that suit your style and body type). I haven't had much luck shopping lately, so I figured I would start getting a few fixes to see if I could add some unique pieces to my closet.

I've been requesting printed tops for the last two orders and she's delivered on that request. I just haven't totally been in love with any particular shirt.

I'll spare including the info on how Stitch Fix works because that is so easy to find on other blogs and on Stitch Fix's website. I found this post by The Tiny Twig and I think it's quite helpful.

Here was my February box. Four tops and a pair of skinny jeans!
Fun2Fun Holston Crochet Trim Solid Blouse: loved the design on the sleeves, but the top looks like others I own and it was just too boring to me. I didn't think it was all that flattering on either. [SENT BACK]
Market & Spruce Mori Henley Top: cute print that initially excited me quite a bit. I knew the design of this top would be great year round by layering it with a sweater in the winter too. Unfortunately, the arm holes were too big and the top felt loose overall. [SENT BACK]

Mavi Alexa skinny jeans: Great color and style. I didn't need any skinny jeans. In fact, I have a pair of Mavi jeans from Stitch Fix that I love, but they are boyfriend style and a lighter color.

These fit perfectly everywhere except for the calves. I have somewhat muscular calf muscles, so perhaps it was due to that. [SENT BACK]

Pixley Edmon Chevron Print Henley Shirt: I loved everything about this top except for the print! It was way too 70's looking to me. The material was perfect and the fit was amazing. This is the type of shirt I love because I can wear it to work or on the weekend. It would also be cute dressed up with a skirt. Oh well. I requested it be sent to me in the future in a solid or less crazy print. We'll see if I can receive another one or if I can search for one online. [SENT BACK]

Skies are Blue Sia Embroidery Peasant Top: I ended up keeping this top because it was the most flattering and unique top I received. I don't come across tops that look like this in the stores too often and I thought the color and fit were flattering. [KEPT]

  1. I got my first box this weekend. I kept two pieces: a cardigan in burgundy (which I never would have picked maybe, but it looks great with a lot of my own pieces) and a long poly shirt in emerald green (another color I wouldn't have thought of at first, but it is a great new addition). There was a pair of navy pants, which weren't really navy and didn't match my suit coat, but fit really well (went back), a top with a cami that looked fine, but not business enough and the sleeves hit me a little strange. I liked the print, but thought I should send it back since I wasn't in love with it. Finally a pair of brassy earrings that were cute, but not $28 cute and they got lost in my hair. So, not too bad and I thought I would give it another shot.
