My Everyday Life [Week 14]

I started out the week by making a quiche with feta, red pepper, greens and tomatoes. It was a great lunch to take to work.
We've been trying to walk outside when it's warmer and sunny. Craig wanted to show me a path through a nature preserve bordering our subdivision.
Pretty green plants growing in the stream.
Hiking makes us happy!
Love the bright green moss we found.
We had two busy days of programming at work, so my boss was sweet and brought us a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, a danish and these kind bars. I enjoyed this bar quite a bit.
I caught Shiva being naughty by playing with the curtain.
And then I got this shot of him being pretty.
We headed to downtown Waukesha for dinner on Friday night.
I did some research on restaurants and found that Taylor's People's Park was rated highly, so we checked it out.
I ordered a portabella mushroom sandwich with a lovely veggie side salad. The food came out quickly and it was really tasty! I washed it all down with a pear cider.
We had a view of the quirky bar.
Craig got the tilapia sandwich and liked it. I'd definitely like to head back there for Sunday brunch and to enjoy the rooftop dining in the summer months.
On Saturday afternoon, I headed to Mukwonago to check out the crazy quilters show. My mom is in the quilt guild there and entered this hand quilted piece into the show. No ribbons for her, but it was cool to see her work hung up.
There were so many amazing pieces entered! I really love the landscape scenes that look like paintings. I also wanted to check out some of the designs since I want my mom to make us a modern quilt and this year's theme was modern designs.
After the quilt show, I went to the library to check out a few books and read magazines.
And then to Target & TJ Maxx, where I found this cute top in the junior's section.
Dinner on Saturday night was tempeh with rice, spinach and Zymbiotics kimchi.

Craig being silly with Pema.
Sunday morning was spent in the Third Ward of Milwaukee. I had been wanting to check out the new Restoration Hardware Outlet store to look for various pieces of furniture we still need. No luck there though so we can cross that store off our list.
I did like the chandelier in the RH lobby though. So pretty!
We enjoyed lunch from Alladin at the Milwaukee Public Market, or should I say I enjoyed my lunch because Craig hated what he ordered. I had a falafel sandwich and he got a taste of India wrap that had cold chicken curry salad with olives. He hates olives, so he had to pick them all out. Oh and we got a tasty green juice from Green Kitchen.
I grabbed a pistachio baklava for dessert. At least Craig liked that!
Our next stop was the Milwaukee Art Museum to check out their newly designed and installed galleries!
I was happy to see that the security guards (on the right in the photo below) are now able to wear black clothes of their choice. I used to be a guard there and hated our uniform!
Craig was pretty tired by the afternoon, so we rested upstairs in my favorite part, the Bradley Collection.
That pretty much sums up my week!
