Craig and I love exploring new parks, so we took advantage of this long weekend to head to Fox River Park in Waukesha. Instead of paying to get into the park, we parked in a subdivision nearby and walked in through the wooded trails that bordered the Fox River. While I walked and swatted at mosquitos, Craig longboarded and avoided them all together.
Pretty blue heron hanging out in the pond.Loved this old tree!
After walking about 2.5 miles, we finally reached the playground we had read about. I was excited to go down the slide!
Climbing was fun too!
Craig discovered this park because of a video on longboarding and I have to say the trails there are perfect for it.
I kept feeling like we were in Colorado the whole time we were at the park and now that feeling is giving me a severe case of wanderlust.
Fox River park would be great to bike or rollerblade through too! I'm sure we'll return there again soon. I know I want to go back there with my friend and her daughters because they would love that play area!
