Sunrise on my birthday. I went for a nice walk before work.
My sister-in-law and nephews surprised me with flowers and a card at work! I was so grateful for their nice gesture.
Hugs, tears of joy and smiles! Those are the best kinds of things to have on your birthday.
And then I had another surprise visitor, my mom! She came around lunch time, so we headed to Cafe Manna. I teared up again. I couldn't believe how kind everyone was on my special day. I was really busy at work, so it was nice to actually force myself to take a relaxing break and head to lunch with mama.I wasn't hungry for dinner, so Craig and I went to Kopps so I could get some yummy tiramisu custard for dessert and he could get dinner.
I am loving the skies lately.
Another morning walk. It definitely puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day. When I don't walk, I try to lift weights instead.
Craig and I went to our first ever Highland Games at the Waukesha Expo Center.
My boyfriend Jamie Fraser just happened to be there, so I had to pose with him. I'm more keen on his sexy accent than anything.
I really wanted to try axe throwing. Maybe next year? There was a long line for it.
It was a brutally hot day, so we resisted our no soda rule and tried Scottish soda, Irn Bru. It was a delicious combination of orange and vanilla.
Loved the animals there!Craig with his Ross family clan tartan.
My great grandmother was an Armstrong. I'd love to know more about that side of the family. Here's our pattern!
Loved all of the funny bumper stickers!
My Scottish family is also from the highlands, around Caithness. The family name is Manson, a sept of the Clan Gunn.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten about Irn Bru. We tried it when we visited Edinburgh.
